Adding Hair to Your Monkey

Your monkey head is now painted, baked and cooled, and she's ready for some hair. Cut a small  amount of mohair to the length you require, I've made monkeys with both long and short hair, this one's is medium length. When you have all the hair prepared, take a brush and paint the area where you want hair with glue. Once the glue is on you need to work quite quickly before it dries. Start at the crown, Orangutans  have quite a severely receeded hairline, and their hair grows up not down. Place the ends of the strip of hair along the hairline, ends up, pressing gently to ensure it sticks. Repeat this process all around the hairline, then gradually move back over the head until you meet the nape of the neck. Next do the cheeks, this time with the unglued ends pointing back, and finally add a little goatee or a beard. Now your orangutan has a beautiful head of hair! To finish off gloss the lips with a little sculpey glaze, and if you have a little girl tie a ribbon in her hair. Next: Sculpting the Limbs..
